Case Studies Completed for Swiss
Robotics Firm
CHARLOTTE, NC (February 11, 2009) — A series
of case studies was recently completed by SELMARQ for a Swiss-based mechatronics
solution provider. Stäubli, a 116-year-old manufacturer
headquartered in Pfäffikon, Switzerland, has U.S. operations located
in Duncan, SC. SELMARQ completed their third case study for Stäubli,
this one featuring Morrill Motors, a leading manufacturer of long life,
1- to 25-watt unit-bearing motors used in a wide variety of industrial,
commercial and residential product applications. Morrill is employing robotics
automation to keep their manufacturing operations competitive with offshore
producers.
Coordinating with the Morrill’s plant manager and Stäubli’s marketing department, SELMARQ wrote and submitted the story with accompanying photography to key trade journals. The article is scheduled to run in the March 2009 issue of Manufacturing Engineering magazine. Previous case studies involve gear and pinion machining and anti-lock brake systems.
